Hello School One,

Welcome to our first digital yearbook!  While the digital format is new, there is much

inside that is familiar.  Our school has cherished its long-time rituals and you’ll see great

photos of them throughout these clickable pages: Farm Day, Harvest Dinner, R-days, and

General Meeting, for example.  But even more importantly, you’ll see pictures of our

amazingly expressive and diverse students and our devoted staff.  I imagine that all of us

look generally happy to be here, because we generally are! We care about each other and our school and I think it shows throughout.

A yearbook seems to occupy a weird moment in time.  It’s of the moment, but it’s also

nostalgic by definition.  It captures the recent past but we can also imagine ourselves

looking at it 10 or 20 years from now, looking backward to 2016 from a future we don’t

yet know.  So the digital part is new, and who knows what technology will look like in

2016, or who we’ll be while using that technology.  But my deep hope is that we’ll easily

remember our time together and the quality of caring, creativity, learning, and growth

that exist beyond time and place.

All my best wishes, always,

Jennifer
